ADULT The Italian Hall Disaster of Christmas Eve 1913

On Christmas Eve 1913, 73 people died (mostly children) in a stampede following a false cry of “Fire!” at the Italian Hall in Calumet in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The tragedy occurred during a miner’s strike in the “Copper Country.”
